I have been a licensed attorney in the State of Washington for 26 years. I have had my own solo law practice for over 23 years. My law firm is limited to filing only chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy cases on behalf of individuals. I have filed over 2,100 bankruptcy cases. My philosophy is that I want to focus on just one area of the law to better serves the needs of my clients. If a current or past client contacts me with a different legal need, I refer them to other experienced attorneys in that area of the law.

Bankruptcy law has always been a perfect fit for me. I am a problem solver. When I speak to a potential client over the phone or meet with someone in person, my goal is to determine whether bankruptcy is in their best interest. This is not always an easy question to answer and requires a careful analysis by asking many questions. I need to look at the entire financial picture, including the type and extent individual’s debt, income, expenses, household size, assets including the value of assets, possible claims, and other financial issues. If a bankruptcy is in their best interests, my job is to figure out whether a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy is available to them and which chapter is going to be provide the most benefit to my client. When someone contacts me, they are usually stressed due to unpaid bills, lawsuits, creditor calls, and other financial problems. It is very satisfying to me to provide a solution that is going to help my client and to file and complete their bankruptcy case with the knowledge that the bankruptcy process was in their best financial interest.

I do not run my law firm as a “mill” but rather I strive to focus on each client’s needs. When clients call, they speak to me. I personally prepare (with my client’s involvement) all of the bankruptcy documents filed with the court. I know all of my clients and all my client’s cases. This is not easy and requires me to be dedicating to my clients and their cases. However, I wouldn’t want to run my law practice any other way. I know that I am serving my clients better by being involved in their entire case.
